Hyundai Motor Company and Kia are establishing a multi-party collaborative ecosystem centered on Mobed to provide customer-tailored robotics solutions.
On March 4, at the "2026 Smart Factory and Automation Industry Exhibition (AW 2026)" held at COEX in Seoul, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia announced the launch of the "Mobed Alliance" and the start of domestic sales of Mobed. The event was attended by representatives from the Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Robotics Lab, major parts suppliers such as Hyundai Transys and SL, robotics solution companies including LS T&I Utech and Gaon Robotics, as well as representatives from relevant organizations such as the Korea AI and Robotics Industry Association.

It is equipped with four independently operated Drive & Lift (DnL) mechanisms based on an eccentric structure, which maximizes its ability to adapt to changing ground conditions.
Its scalability stands out, as it can be combined with a variety of top modules tailored to the needs of different industries. It is expected to be utilized in areas such as outdoor delivery, patrol, research, and video production. In January, Mobed won the top innovation award in the robotics category at "CES 2026," the world’s largest electronics and IT exhibition, demonstrating its world-class technological capabilities.
Hyundai Motor Company and Kia are pursuing an ecosystem-driven commercialization strategy that supplies complete solutions together with specialized partners, rather than selling the Mobed platform alone. The system is operated through a four-party collaboration among the Robotics Lab, domestic parts suppliers, robotics solution companies, and related organizations.
The Robotics Lab provides platform development and core technology foundations for Mobed, while 10 parts suppliers including Hyundai Transys handle the production and supply of essential components such as sensors, electronic parts, and batteries. Five robotics solution companies, including LS T&I Utech and Gaon Robotics, are responsible for providing customized services and building on-site systems, and organizations such as the Korea AI and Robotics Industry Association support demonstration projects.
The robotics solution companies plan to supply customers with 10 types of customized top modules for Mobed, including logistics delivery, patrol drone stations, and advertising signage.

The booth features structures such as drainage ditches, curves, and ramps to demonstrate Mobed’s exceptional mobility in navigating terrains that are difficult for conventional autonomous mobile robots to overcome.
Hyundai Motor Company and Kia are also providing purchase consultations for customers visiting the booth. Dongjin Hyun, Executive Director and Head of the Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Robotics Lab, stated, "Mobed, recognized for its innovation on the global stage, has evolved into an even more advanced robotics solution through the alliance. We will work with our key partners to enhance the competitiveness of Korea’s robotics industry and take the lead in expanding the physical AI ecosystem."
