GD Ventures, an early-stage startup-focused investment firm, has made a pre-seed investment in the Christian startup Vivadios.
According to GD Ventures on March 4, the Patriot Fund, jointly managed by Base Ventures and EO Studio, joined this round as a new investor. The specific investment amount was not disclosed.
Vivadios is a startup aiming to revolutionize the faith experience of Christians worldwide by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) technology. To lower the high entry barriers of existing Bible content, the company has introduced AI conversational services, short-form videos, and personalization technology. Designed to make the Bible more accessible and engaging, Vivadios is gaining attention among Millennials & Gen Z.
Currently, Vivadios is fully integrating AI technology across all processes, from education and habit formation to psychological counseling and community engagement. Its main services include 'BibleNPC,' an AI character chat that allows users to converse with biblical figures; 'Reeligion,' which reinterprets Bible content into short-form videos; and a daily meditation newsletter. Based on this investment, Vivadios plans to expand its service range within the year to include AI-powered psychological counseling and an all-in-one sin and habit tracker.
Vivadios founder Minseok Lee is a development specialist who studied computer engineering at Boston University and the Georgia Institute of Technology. During his university years, he developed more than 20 apps, three of which he successfully sold. He later worked as a product team leader at Viva Republica (Toss), overseeing viral product development.
Minseok Lee commented, "The Christian app market still requires structural innovation. Vivadios will redesign the entire process, from Bible learning to daily faith practice, using technology to become a platform that brings real change to the lives of Christians around the world."
GD Ventures highly evaluated the innovation Vivadios has demonstrated in the global Christian app market, which has been relatively slow to undergo digital transformation. Despite the vast market of approximately 2.6 billion Christians worldwide, existing faith apps have largely focused only on minor improvements. The company believes that Vivadios's AI-based interactive services have significant potential to transform the paradigm of faith experiences.
Ha Kyung Kim, CEO of GD Ventures, stated, "The global Christian market, which holds enormous business potential, aligns with GD Ventures' investment philosophy of 'investing in industries that will not disappear.' In particular, the conviction that CEO Minseok Lee is a founder who will become a global leader in this market was the decisive reason for our participation in this investment."
