Hwasun County in South Jeolla Province announced on the 19th that the "2nd Hwasun Jeokbyeok Cup National Park Golf Tournament" will be held this coming March at the Hwasun Park Golf Course.

The Hwasun Jeokbyeok Cup National Park Golf Tournament (hereinafter referred to as the Hwasun Jeokbyeok Cup) is a nationwide competition hosted and organized by the Hwasun County Park Golf Association and sponsored by Hwasun County. The tournament is named after Jeokbyeok, a famous scenic spot representing Hwasun, and marks its second edition this year following the first tournament held in September 2025.

This year's tournament will be held over three days, with the first preliminary round on March 7, the second preliminary round on March 14, and the final round on March 21. A total of 640 players (320 men and 320 women) will participate in each of the first and second preliminary rounds, playing 18 holes, and the 640 players who advance from the preliminaries will compete over 36 holes in the final round.

In particular, this year's tournament has expanded both the number of participants and the scale of operations compared with the previous year, with a total field of 1,280 players. Among those who advance to the final round, prize money will be awarded to the top 10 men and the top 10 women, and the champions will each receive prize money of 10 million won (including taxes).

Hong I-sik, President of the Hwasun County Park Golf Association, said, "We have further expanded the scale of the tournament to befit the Hwasun Park Golf Course, which boasts the largest single-course facility in the country," adding, "Through this tournament, Hwasun County will emerge as a mecca for park golf, and we expect to maximize both nationwide club exchanges and the promotional effect for the region."

He continued, "Since the tournament will be held every Saturday over a period of three weeks, we hope to see active participation from office workers and club members, and we will do our utmost to make this event a festival of exchange and harmony."

Cho Hyeong-chae, Head of the Tourism and Sports Office, said, "The Hwasun Park Golf Course is an optimal venue for a national tournament, with a large-scale 87-hole course, infrastructure that can accommodate parking for more than 40 large buses, and its location along the Jiseokcheon Stream," adding, "As the Hwasun Jeokbyeok Cup is being held as a national tournament for the first time this year, we expect park golf enthusiasts from across the country to visit, and we will spare no effort to ensure safe and smooth tournament operations."

Meanwhile, detailed information on the Hwasun Jeokbyeok Cup, including the tournament guidelines, can be found in the tournament schedule section on the official website of the Korea Park Golf Association.
