Danggeun announced on the 6th that the average transaction price of used compact cars last month rose 23% year-on-year.

According to an analysis of January data by Danggeun's used-car service "Danggeun Junggocha," the average transaction price for compact cars came to approximately 4.76 million won. This is a 23% increase compared to the same period a year earlier (3.87 million won).

With high inflation and an ongoing economic downturn, it is analyzed that the economic advantages of compact cars, such as low maintenance costs and various tax benefits, have become a major attraction among Danggeun users.

Although prices have risen, the speed of the purchase journey has become faster. The average time to complete a transaction for compact car listings was 7 days, which is 5.4 days shorter than the overall average of 12.4 days for all vehicle types. This is interpreted as being influenced by the scarcity of used compact cars that can be taken over immediately, due to delays in the delivery of some new compact car models that have continued since the second half of last year.

By vehicle type (excluding trucks), the Kia Morning ranked first in total transaction volume. It was followed by the Chevrolet Spark in second place and the Hyundai Grandeur in third. When including the Kia Ray (7th place), compact car models accounted for about 20% of total transactions.

Family cars suitable for riding with family members were also popular. The Kia Carnival, a leading multipurpose vehicle (MPV), ranked fourth, and the Hyundai Santa Fe came in tenth.
