BigHit Music announced on the 4th that BTS's fifth full-length album "Arirang," which the group is releasing as a complete lineup for the first time in 3 years and 9 months, has surpassed 3 million pre-saves on global music streaming platform Spotify.
"Arirang" surpassed 1 million pre-saves just two days after pre-saving began, and exceeded 2 million in four days, maintaining its upward momentum. There is also interest in whether it will break the all-time record of 6 million pre-saves held by Taylor Swift's 12th studio album "The Life of a Showgirl."
"Arirang" also ranked No. 1 for two consecutive weeks, as of January 21 and 28, on Spotify's "Countdown Chart Global." This chart aggregates pre-save figures for albums prior to release and is used as an indicator to gauge the expectations of global music fans.
Global fan platform Weverse stated that the number of membership subscribers has surged roughly threefold since the announcements of the album release and the world tour. In addition, the title track "Yet To Come" from the anthology album "Proof," which surpassed a cumulative 105 million streams as of December 2025, and "Love Maze," a track from their third full-length album "LOVE YOURSELF 轉 'Tear'," have received Platinum and Gold certifications, respectively, from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
"Arirang" will be released at 1 p.m. on the 20th of next month. The album consists of a total of 14 tracks that deal with universal emotions such as the group's identity and longing. On the day after the release, the 21st, BTS will hold "BTS Comeback Live: Arirang" at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul. This will be the first time that a singer has held a solo performance at Gwanghwamun Square. Netflix plans to broadcast the concert live to more than 190 countries.
