This event is a POST-APEC follow-up cooperation program, promoted based on the cooperative relationship established with the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea during the recent APEC National Technology Commercialization Fair. It has been organized as a practical exchange platform to directly link the technology commercialization capabilities of the Gyeongbuk region with EU member states.

The briefing will be attended by 22 science and digital counsellors and diplomats from 17 EU member states, including Germany, France, and Belgium, who will discuss the potential for technological cooperation and joint R&D with research institutes, universities, and companies in the Gyeongbuk region.

On the first day, the 4th, at the Gyeongju International Cultural Exchange Center, the program will begin with an introduction to the technology transfer projects of the Korea Technology Finance Corporation, followed by presentations on Gyeongbuk TP's strategies for fostering regional industries and supporting technology commercialization, and on the startup and commercialization programs of the Daegu University Startup Support Group.

In addition, the EU Delegation will share examples of R&D and corporate collaboration between the EU and Korea, as well as future directions for cooperation, and there will be discussions on a regional-based global cooperation model.

On the 5th, the delegation will move to Pohang to visit key research and industrial infrastructure in Gyeongbuk, including the Gyeongbuk TP Secondary Battery Integrated Management Center, the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory, and POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology).

Through these visits, EU diplomats will be able to see firsthand the advanced technology base of Gyeongbuk and its demonstration-oriented technology commercialization environment, in which research, industry, and companies are closely linked.

In particular, by visiting the POSTECH Change-Up Ground and its resident company VeryWoz Co., Ltd., they plan to share on-site perspectives on the growth process of technology-based startups and their potential for global collaboration.

Building on this event, Gyeongbuk TP plans to systematically support global technology transfer, joint R&D, and subsequent commercialization for companies in the Gyeongbuk region.

Through cooperation with EU research institutes and companies, it aims to flesh out a full-cycle cooperation model that spans from technology acquisition to demonstration, commercialization, and entry into overseas markets.

Ha Inseong, President of Gyeongbuk TP, stated, "This event is an important starting point for directly connecting Gyeongbuk's technological and industrial capabilities with EU member states," adding, "Gyeongbuk TP will actively support technology commercialization and international cooperation so that local companies can secure competitiveness in the global market."

Through this event, Gyeongbuk TP is expected to establish Gyeongbuk as a hub region for global technology commercialization cooperation and to further strengthen the foundation for sustainable growth of regional industries and international collaboration.
