NH-Amundi Asset Management announced on February 3 that the total net assets of the 'HANARO Securities High Dividend TOP3 Plus Exchange Traded Fund (ETF)', which invests in major domestic securities stocks, have surpassed 50 billion won.
According to the Korea Exchange, as of January 30, the ETF's net assets stood at 59.4 billion won. Since its listing in October last year, the unprecedented bull market, with the KOSPI surpassing 5,000 points, has led to a surge in investment demand for securities stocks that directly benefit from the market's rise.
The returns have also been impressive. As of February 1, the one-month return was 42.6%, and the three-month return reached 36.55%. The recent record highs in stock market trading volume and deposits have heightened expectations for improved earnings at securities firms, which has been reflected in their share prices.
The HANARO Securities High Dividend TOP3 Plus ETF is a product that selects and invests in domestic securities companies with high dividend yields and high return on equity (ROE). Notably, the top three stocks-Mirae Asset Securities, Korea Financial Group, and NH Investment & Securities-account for about 60% of the portfolio. Recently, large domestic securities firms have been shifting their business models from traditional brokerage to high-profit models such as proprietary trading, promissory notes, and integrated investment accounts (IMA). This diversification into stable revenue models that are less affected by market fluctuations is seen as a positive development.
The ETF will also begin to generate regular cash flow as a monthly distribution product. In January, the HANARO Securities High Dividend TOP3 Plus ETF paid its first monthly distribution of 10 won per share and began monthly payouts. In particular, as more dividend income from constituent stocks is secured after April, the distribution amount is expected to increase further starting in May.
Kim Seungcheol, Head of ETF Investments at NH-Amundi Asset Management, stated, "Securities stocks are an attractive investment destination during a rising stock market," adding, "As large domestic securities firms diversify their revenue models and enhance shareholder returns, this ETF will be an effective choice for investors seeking both solid fundamentals and growth potential."
