Jeollanam-do announced its "2026 Local Government Official Recruitment Examination Plan," stating that it will hire 1,822 new local government officials this year.

Taking into account the government's implementation of an integrated support system for medical care, nursing, and caregiving, the number of new hires has increased by 310 compared to last year.

With the "Act on Integrated Support for Local Care Services such as Medical and Nursing Care" set to take effect on March 27, Jeollanam-do plans to newly recruit approximately 314 officials in nursing, public health, and social welfare positions who will be responsible for establishing a community-based care system. This initiative focuses on responding to the growing demand for medical and caregiving services as the region enters a super-aged society, and aims to build a foundation for providing integrated welfare services that residents can truly experience.

Jeollanam-do will maintain its principles of fair, transparent, and accurate exam administration, and plans to enhance the organization’s adaptability by continuously securing professional personnel who can be immediately deployed in the field in response to the rapidly changing administrative environment. In addition, the recruitment information website will be completely revamped to provide intuitive, applicant-centered information and to actively disclose recruitment-related data such as application rates and cut-off scores, thereby expanding candidates' right to information.

The 2026 local government official recruitment examination will be systematically conducted according to the annual recruitment plan, divided into open competitive recruitment, career competitive recruitment, research and guidance positions, and fixed-term officials. Detailed exam schedules and information can be found on the recruitment information sections of the Jeollanam-do and city/county websites.

An official from Jeollanam-do stated, "This recruitment is not simply about increasing workforce numbers, but is aimed at strengthening administrative capabilities in key areas directly related to residents’ lives, such as care and safety, and ensuring stable organizational management in line with government policy direction." The official added, "We will actively support candidates in preparing for the exam by ensuring fair administration and providing accurate information."
