Hyundai Transys is setting a new standard for mobility spaces with circulation at its core.
On January 27 (local time), Hyundai Transys unveiled its future mobility vision project, the "Circular Mobility System," at the Poltrona Frau flagship store in New York, USA.
This project defines the mobility and living spaces of future mobility environments as a single, circulating system, focusing on breaking down the boundaries between daily life and movement.

Ground movement (COME & GO), aerial movement (UP & DOWN), and the act of staying in between (STAY) are seamlessly connected through the use of materials and colors. Through organic design, users can enjoy a consistent mobility experience even as the mode of transportation changes.
At the event, which brought together more than 100 experts from the automotive, design, and fashion industries, attendees experienced the collaborative results of Hyundai Transys, Italian luxury furniture brand Poltrona Frau, and global materials network Lineapelle through VR devices and exhibits.
During the project presentation session, a video outlining the background of the global collaboration was shown, and each company introduced its technologies and vision. Hyundai Transys focused on the design of future mobility seats and spatial systems, Poltrona Frau contributed furniture design-based hub space configurations, and Lineapelle was responsible for leather and materials innovation.
Hyundai Transys defined future mobility spaces as "living spaces" where users can engage in diverse activities, and proposed modular seats and spatial structures as a strategy to respond to changing user experiences.
By designing seats and interior components as modules, the same concept can be extended to different modes of transportation such as PBVs and UAMs, as well as to hub spaces where users stay before and after transit.
Poltrona Frau incorporated a furniture design perspective into the hub space seating configuration. By applying the "Bay System," developed in collaboration with Foster + Partners Industrial Design, the color, material, and form of the hub space seating can be reconfigured as modules according to need, ensuring connectivity with future mobility spaces.
Lineapelle highlighted the excellence and sustainability of leather from a materials perspective. In particular, leather was redefined as a "Circular Leather"-a premium material that can be managed and reused over the long term, rather than a short-term consumable.
Furthermore, Hyundai Transys introduced PBV and UAM seats featuring "The LIGHTWEIGHT Leather." This lightweight leather, made from Poltrona Frau's leather materials, maintains durability and luxury despite its reduced weight, demonstrating the potential of leather as a material for future mobility seats.
Hong Sungkyung, Head of Seat Design Team at Hyundai Transys, stated, "Through modularization, seats will evolve beyond simple functional components to become key elements connecting mobility and daily life," adding, "Hyundai Transys will continue research, development, and global collaboration to lead the transformation of future mobility seats."
