Samsung Electronics Launches AI PCs 'Galaxy Book6 Ultra' and 'Pro' in Korea

Samsung Electronics announced on January 26 that it will launch its Artificial Intelligence (AI) PCs, the 'Galaxy Book6 Ultra' and 'Galaxy Book6 Pro', in Korea on January 27.

The 'Galaxy Book6 Ultra' will be released in a single 40.6 cm (16-inch) size and in gray. The 'Galaxy Book6 Pro' will be available in two sizes, 40.6 cm (16-inch) and 35.6 cm (14-inch), and will come in both gray and silver.

Prices vary depending on the model, central processing unit (CPU), graphics card, memory, and other specifications. The 'Galaxy Book6 Ultra' is priced between 4,620,000 and 4,930,000 won, while the 'Galaxy Book6 Pro' ranges from 2,600,000 to 3,510,000 won.

The Galaxy Book6 series features the Intel Core Ultra Processor Series 3, which enhances power efficiency and processing performance. The neural processing unit (NPU), capable of up to 50 TOPS (50 trillion operations per second), smoothly supports AI-based tasks such as image editing, text conversion, and search.

The display supports up to 1,000 nits of HDR brightness, twice as bright as the previous model, allowing for clear image quality even outdoors. For the first time in the Galaxy Book lineup, it is equipped with a total of six speakers, including four woofers and two tweeters.

The 'Galaxy Book6 Ultra' uses fans designed to expel heat from the rear and sides, preventing overheating and performance degradation. The 'Galaxy Book6 Pro' features a vapor chamber cooling system to reduce heat. Both models offer up to 30 hours of video playback, about nine hours longer than the previous Galaxy Book5 Pro (14-inch).

In terms of design, the 'Galaxy Book6 Ultra' is 15.4 mm thick, making it 1.1 mm thinner than its predecessor. The 'Galaxy Book6 Pro' (16-inch) is 11.9 mm thick, 0.6 mm thinner than the previous version.

With the Galaxy Book6 series, users can easily search for documents or images stored on the PC and change PC settings using natural language. The AI Select feature allows users to select text or images directly on the touchscreen while browsing, shopping, or watching videos online, and instantly access relevant information without entering separate search terms.

To coincide with the new product launch, Samsung Electronics is offering a variety of benefits to customers who purchase the devices. These include a limited-edition laptop bag in collaboration with British weatherwear brand Hunter, and the opportunity to buy a Switch brand backpack for 59,000 won, which is about 70% off the regular price. The mobile accessory 'Galaxy SmartTag2' is also available at a special price, both as a standalone item and in a package. Customers will also receive a three-month free voucher for Samsung Care Plus notebook damage protection. These offers are available until March 31.

Jung Hojin, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics Korea, stated, "The Galaxy Book6 series is an innovative flagship product that offers a new experience, from overwhelming performance and sophisticated design to the convenience of Galaxy AI." He added, "For customers who focus on high-resolution video editing and gaming, we recommend the Ultra model, while those who prefer high-performance multitasking and a touch display should choose the Pro model."
