Osiria Waterfront Park 'Baekseokchangpa' Wins Grand Prize at Busan Most Beautiful Landscaping Awards

Transforming Coastal Leftover Spaces into a Citizen-Friendly Waterfront Retreat
BMC: "Recognized for Accessibility, Scenery, and Connectivity"

Busan Urban Corporation (BMC, President Shin Changho) announced on December 11 that the 'Baekseokchangpa' section of the waterfront park beach in the Osiria Tourism Complex has received the Grand Prize at the 13th Busan Most Beautiful Landscaping Awards.

Baekseokchangpa is a park that has transformed a small coastal beach into a citizen-friendly waterfront relaxation space, and it was highly praised as a "coastal leisure area where you can experience the sea up close."

The project was noted for seamlessly connecting to the Galmaetgil trail and for its multi-layered circulation plan, including ramps, stairs, and stands linking the beach to the city center. This approach turned previously inaccessible leftover spaces into one of Busan's signature coastal landmarks. Its excellent connectivity to nearby tourist and commercial facilities such as Osiria Station, Lotte Outlet, and Lotte World is also expected to increase visitors to the waterfront park, extend overall stay times within the tourism complex, and further revitalize the local commercial district.

Shin Changho, President of Busan Urban Corporation, stated, "Winning the Grand Prize is a meaningful result that recognizes Osiria Waterfront Park as a representative public space connecting the city and the coast. Building on this achievement, we will further promote the appeal of the Osiria Tourism Complex and strengthen Busan's image as a coastal city that both citizens and tourists want to visit."
