Seongju County Holds Completion Ceremony for Yesan Gyochon Village LPG Small Storage Tank Supply Project

On December 8, Seongju County held a completion ceremony for the 'Seongju County Yesan 2-ri Gyochon Village LPG Small Storage Tank Supply Project' at the Yesan 2-ri Village Hall in Seongju-eup, with over 70 attendees including heads of institutions and organizations, as well as local residents.

The LPG small storage tank supply project, overseen by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, aims to establish a gas supply system to ease the fuel cost burden in rural areas where city gas is not available. The project was confirmed as a target in February of this year, and has since been implemented accordingly.

In May of last year, a business agreement was signed with the Korea LPG Business Management Institute, and the detailed design was completed after gathering residents' opinions through explanatory sessions. Construction began in September of this year, and the facility work was completed in just three months.

A total project cost of 1.66 billion won (200 million from the national government, 80 million from the provincial government, 1.23 billion from the county, and 150 million in self-funding) was invested to install LPG small tanks, underground and indoor pipelines, and gas boilers. County funding was used to minimize residents' self-funding so that many could benefit from affordable and safe fuel supply.

Lee Byeonghwan, Mayor of Seongju County, stated, "Through this project, residents can enjoy the safety and convenience equivalent to city gas, and we expect about a 30% reduction in fuel costs. We will continue to do our best to ensure that there are no energy-isolated areas through ongoing project implementation."
