22 Detached Housing Sites in 'Saemangeum Waterfront City' Reannounced: "A Second Chance for Those Who Missed Out"

Saemangeum Development Corporation will begin a new public announcement for the remaining detached housing sites in Saemangeum Smart Waterfront City on December 10. This offers an additional opportunity following the success of the first phase of sales.

On December 9, Saemangeum Development Corporation announced that it would conduct a new public announcement for 22 detached housing sites in Saemangeum Smart Waterfront City that did not receive valid bids during the first phase of sales.

This new announcement targets the remaining sites that were not awarded in the first phase. Anyone interested, including those who were not selected in the first announcement, can participate. Bidding will take place on Onbid, the electronic asset disposal system of Korea Asset Management Corporation, from December 11 to 16, under the same conditions as the first phase.

In the previous announcement, 45 out of 67 detached housing sites were contracted. The process was conducted by lottery, and the most popular site recorded a competition rate of 31 to 1. Both neighborhood living facility sites, which were sold through competitive bidding, were also awarded.

The corporation particularly noted that 17% of all bidders were from the Seoul metropolitan area. This is considered significant given the overall downturn in the real estate market. The corporation explained, "This result demonstrates that Saemangeum has been recognized as a national growth region that matches the rapidly changing global industrial ecosystem."

The corporation also held a "first sales contract signing ceremony" on-site for the initial contract holders, aiming to build trust with prospective buyers.

The corporation will accelerate the development of infrastructure and residential environments so that the waterfront city, a place with a previously non-existent address, can soon welcome its new residents."
