Gyeonggi Province has been selected as an outstanding local government in the '2024 Child Policy Implementation Performance Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
Gyeonggi Province achieved the distinction of winning awards for four consecutive years, having received the Grand Prize in 2022 and the Excellence Award in both 2023 and 2024, and once again securing the Excellence Award this year.
On December 8, at the 13th Child Policy Forum for 2025 held at Oak Valley in Wonju, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, Gyeonggi Province was honored with the Excellence Award in the Child Policy Implementation Performance Evaluation, as announced on December 9.
Gyeonggi Province achieved balanced results across the overall evaluation indicators. In particular, it received high marks for establishing and supporting a child policy coordination system at the provincial level, guaranteeing children's rights to participation, creating a child-friendly environment, and expanding public mental health care infrastructure.

원본보기 아이콘To support the healthy and happy growth of children, Gyeonggi Province is building a reliable 24-hour child care system, including the operation of the Child Always Care Metropolitan Center, support for Happy Meal Programs for children during school vacations, family care allowance support, the Mentor-Mentee Together Project for self-reliant youth, and psychological therapy support for children in group homes. The province is also operating protection systems and strengthening self-reliance capabilities for children in need of protection.
In particular, the province is making efforts to prevent child abuse, support victims, and promote overall child welfare.
Kwon Moonjoo, Director of Child Care at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "We will continue to actively promote various child policies, including the '360° Always Care' program, to create an environment where children can grow up healthy and safe."
