On November 27, CJ Logistics announced that it has signed a "Strategic Distribution-Logistics Technology Partnership MOU" with CP Extra (AXTRA), Thailand's largest distribution company. CP Extra is a subsidiary of Thailand's CP Group and operates leading wholesale and retail brands such as "Makro" and "Lotus's."

The company also plans to operate additional logistics centers totaling 164,000 square meters, which ranks among the largest in Thailand's logistics sector. These centers supply products to Makro wholesale stores nationwide, handling not only ambient consumer goods but also fresh produce such as vegetables and fruits, as well as chilled and frozen products like meat and seafood.
The companies also plan to strengthen cooperation in the fulfillment sector. As CP Extra's e-commerce business grows, there is an increasing need for specialized fulfillment services tailored to e-commerce logistics, such as storage, inventory management, and packaging. CJ Logistics has accumulated experience and technological expertise in fulfillment operations for a wide range of product categories, including fashion, beauty, and consumer goods, in the domestic market.
After stabilizing the operation of Makro's wholesale logistics, CJ Logistics plans to expand cooperation to logistics for retail stores, as well as to transportation logistics that move large volumes of goods between key hubs such as warehouses and stores.
The two companies also plan to jointly develop advanced logistics IT systems. They will collaborate on next-generation logistics systems tailored to CP AXTRA's nationwide distribution network in Thailand, including a new warehouse management system (WMS) and an integrated Total Control Tower (TCT). Once implemented, these systems will enable real-time monitoring of the entire logistics process, including workflow at logistics centers, transportation between regions, and order management at the store level.
This agreement was made possible in large part due to logistics consulting that CJ Logistics provided over the past five months, covering CP Extra's entire supply chain. The company proposed operational strategies to reduce average transportation time from warehouse to store and to improve productivity within logistics centers.
Youngsoo Shin, CEO of CJ Logistics, stated, "This partnership with CP Extra, Thailand's largest distribution company, marks a turning point for the global competitiveness of 'K-Logistics.' By combining the expertise and advanced technologies we have accumulated in domestic and international logistics markets, we will drive innovation in Thailand's distribution supply chain and expand our presence worldwide, further strengthening our position as a core global logistics partner."
