The promotion center features exhibitions that provide an overview of Pohang's food service industry policies and specialized districts, including promotional efforts for Pohang's bid to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (Gastronomy sector), the city's specialized dining streets, and tasting experiences of the "Pohang 10 Flavors."
Tasting programs for the "Pohang 10 Flavors," such as raw blue-backed fish and mulhoe (cold raw fish soup), attracted significant attention from visitors, vividly showcasing the characteristics and flavors of Pohang's marine cuisine.
In particular, the "AI×FoodTech Zone" captivated on-site visitors with a demonstration where a humanoid cooking robot recognized guests and served popcorn. These interactive, high-tech experiences were praised for "presenting a blueprint of the future-oriented gourmet city Pohang aspires to become," drawing positive feedback from National Assembly officials.
A signature dessert zone was also set up to introduce local desserts. Local brand desserts such as Heunghaera Ipab (Ibabi Green Sulbbang) and Haepungmidang (Wild Raspberry Caramel) were showcased, highlighting new possibilities for the expansion of Pohang's culinary scene.
Mayor Lee Kangdeok stated, "It was a meaningful occasion to directly introduce Pohang's unique gourmet offerings, desserts, and food tech-future food culture content-in such a symbolic venue as the National Assembly." He emphasized, "Pohang's culinary resources and food tech capabilities are more than competitive enough in the global food market."
He added, "Going forward, we will boldly and continuously pursue innovation in the local food industry and expand our global network, so that Pohang can rise as a leading global gourmet tourism city representing Korea."
