The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) held an event on the afternoon of November 25 at the main auditorium of the Educational Research and Information Institute in Yangjeong-dong, Busanjin-gu, to share outstanding examples of field trip programs conducted by 11 schools in the Busan area over the past year.
This event was organized to enhance the safety and educational effectiveness of field trips and to provide practical support for individual schools to operate distinctive programs. More than 120 participants, including teachers, attended the event.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education held a contest for outstanding cases in October to discover excellent experiential learning programs implemented by individual schools and to promote unique models based on democratic communication between teachers and students.
Three elementary schools, four middle schools, and four high schools-a total of 11 schools-were selected. Among them, Bugyeong High School was chosen as the top school for its highly regarded approach of operating small-scale, themed experiential learning programs that were planned and communicated by students and linked to the curriculum.
Singok Middle School attracted attention as a distinctive case by implementing a systematic safety education system from the preliminary stage and presenting a "Zero Safety Accident" model. Through its "8-Octave Growth Program," the school integrated subject learning, character education, and career exploration into a holistic experiential learning program.
The outstanding examples and developed models presented at the event will be uploaded to the field trip website so that all schools in the Busan area can utilize them.
Superintendent Kim Seokjun stated, "Field trips extend classroom learning into real life and are educational activities that foster students' character and competencies through diverse experiences. I hope this event serves as an opportunity to promote safe and distinctive field trips that provide both in-depth learning and enjoyment."
