Gwangju City in Gyeonggi Province conducted an inspection of the '2025-2026 Winter Snow Removal Measures Preparation Status' at the Tanjeol-dong snow storage site on November 19, led by Mayor Bang Se-hwan, to prepare for the upcoming winter's heavy snowfall and icy conditions.

원본보기 아이콘On this day, Mayor Bang received a briefing from officials on the snow removal preparation status and meticulously checked the storage conditions of de-icing agents, the operational status of snow removal vehicles and spreaders, shovels, excavators, and mobile brine spraying devices to ensure they could be deployed immediately during snowfall. He also participated in making sandbags for snow removal, inspected the working environment of employees, and checked compliance with safety regulations.
The autonomous disaster prevention team also participated in the on-site inspection, demonstrating the actual operation of their snow removal vehicles and sidewalk snow removal equipment, thereby strengthening the public-private cooperation system.
Mayor Bang emphasized, "Winter snow removal work is directly linked to the safety of our citizens, so thorough preparation is essential," and urged, "We will do our utmost to prevent any inconvenience to citizens caused by snow and ice, and please pay special attention to preventing safety accidents among workers."
Meanwhile, the city has designated the period until March 15, 2026, as the winter snow removal measures period, secured 13,620 tons of de-icing agents-exceeding the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's reserve standard of 12,625 tons-and plans to deploy 472 pieces of snow removal equipment to carry out prompt and proactive snow removal operations in the event of a snowfall forecast.
