This event was organized as a side event to the Korea-UAE Business Roundtable held on the 19th, with the aim of generating tangible economic cooperation outcomes following the summit visit.

The event, consisting of a business forum and consultation sessions, saw the participation of 23 Korean small and medium-sized enterprises in the AI and energy sectors. On the local side, clients and buyers from the UAE and other Middle Eastern countries also took part.

During the business forum held in the morning, the National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC), a state-owned enterprise in Abu Dhabi, UAE, introduced major energy projects. This was followed by a presentation from MEED, a leading market research organization in the Middle East, on how AI is transforming the infrastructure and energy industries in the region. MEED annually assesses excellence in regional projects.

In the subsequent business consultation sessions, eight companies in AI and fifteen in energy from Korea participated. A total of 69 local partners, including clients and buyers not only from the UAE but also from neighboring Middle Eastern countries such as Qatar, engaged in business discussions-exceeding initial expectations. Altogether, 217 business consultations were conducted, with the total value of potential contracts estimated at 12.85 million dollars.

In particular, companies possessing convergent technologies in AI and energy drew significant attention at the venue. Company A, which offers an AI-based construction design optimization solution, automated the plant design process using digital twin technology, attracting interest from UAE partners.

KOTRA plans to use this economic cooperation plaza as an opportunity to strengthen partnerships with major clients. In particular, based on the business agreement signed with the Dubai Future Foundation in September, KOTRA intends to expand cooperation through various initiatives, such as inviting promising Korean AI companies to the "2026 Dubai AI Week."

Kang Kyungsung, President of KOTRA, stated, "Through the summit visit and the business roundtable, we were able to reaffirm the deepening commitment to cooperation between the two countries," adding, "This economic cooperation plaza is especially meaningful as it further concretizes that commitment."
