Attending the event alongside representatives from seven global companies, Renault Korea President Nicolas Paris explained that Renault Korea is one of Renault Group's five strategic global hubs and plays a very important role in the group's future mobility strategy.
President Nicolas Paris also pledged new investments in Korea, including additional facility investments related to electric vehicle production at the Busan plant, and submitted an investment report for the amount scheduled to be injected in the short term as part of the new investments.
The detailed information, including the total scale of the new investment, which was delivered privately, will be released at an appropriate time in the future.
Earlier this year, in January, Renault Korea's Busan plant carried out a large-scale update of 68 facilities in order to transition into a future mobility production base.
Through this, the Busan plant has acquired the capability to produce not only internal combustion engine vehicles and hybrid vehicles, but also the latest pure electric vehicles on a single mixed production line.
The decision for this additional facility investment is expected to further strengthen the Busan plant's electric vehicle production capabilities.
