Samhwa Paint Develops Korea's First Fire-Resistant Paint for PCM Print Steel Sheets

Samhwa Paint Industrial Co., Ltd. announced on October 30 that it has succeeded in developing the nation's first fire-resistant paint for PCM (Pre-Coated Metal) print steel sheets.
According to performance tests conducted by the Disaster Prevention Research Institute of the Korea Fire Protection Association, this product recorded a mass reduction rate of 0.4% in the fire resistance test and a maximum gas toxicity duration of 14 minutes and 47 seconds. These results are well within the fire resistance standard of a mass reduction rate of 30% or less, and the gas toxicity standard of at least 9 minutes.

Since obtaining a domestic patent for a fire-resistant coating composition for PCM color steel sheets in 2019 for the first time in Korea, Samhwa Paint Industrial Co., Ltd. has continued to advance its technology by launching a two-coating system and steadily enhancing its technological capabilities.
