On the previous day, DKTechin held a contract signing ceremony for the "BMW Korean Voice AI System Construction Project" with representatives from BMW Group at DKTechin's headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.

The event was attended by key officials from both companies, including Lee Wonju, CEO of DKTechin; Kim Gyeyoung and Cho Youngjun, Vice Presidents of DKTechin; Andreas Stum, Head of R&D Center Korea at BMW Group; Sebastian Felser, Head of Purchasing and Quality Management; and Joo Yangye, Head of Customer Division at BMW Korea, who pledged their commitment to collaboration.

DKTechin will implement a voice AI system in BMW vehicles based on Kakao’s proprietary AI model, Kanana. This next-generation vehicle operation system is designed to allow drivers to control various in-car functions and enjoy a wide range of services through natural, conversational interaction.

The BMW Korean Voice AI System Construction Project aims to develop a voice AI vehicle control system for BMW’s new cars. In the future, DKTechin plans to introduce a system incorporating a large language model (LLM)-based generative AI, making it possible to equip vehicles with even more advanced AI capabilities.

This will enable more sophisticated vehicle control and allow BMW to offer premium content exclusively for its customers by leveraging Kakao’s extensive infotainment services.

CEO Lee stated, "By effectively combining DKTechin’s experience in building and operating vehicle control services with our AI model Kanana, we will apply an even more advanced automotive AI system. We are committed to ensuring that this collaboration becomes an opportunity to further enhance BMW’s customer experience and brand satisfaction."

Meanwhile, since 2015, DKTechin has accumulated technology and expertise by providing IT services to Kakao affiliates, and since 2020 has expanded into business-to-business (B2B) operations. Its main business areas include the integrated groupware 'Kakao Work,' voice B2B platforms such as smart home and smart vehicle control, AI business chatbots, and digital transformation (DX) and information systems, providing customized business solutions for enterprises.
