On October 1, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the 9th Integrated Review Committee for Urban Renewal Projects had conditionally approved the review plan for the "Geoyeo Saemaeul District Public Redevelopment Maintenance Project" by conducting an integrated review covering architecture, landscape, parks, education, transportation, and disaster impact assessment. This marks the finalization of the last development project in the southwestern section of the Geoyeo-Macheon Redevelopment Promotion District in Songpa-gu.

After redevelopment, Geoyeo Saemaeul will consist of 12 buildings and a total of 1,678 units, including 471 rental housing units. The complex will be completed as a future-oriented residential area that generates its own energy, achieving Grade 5 Zero Energy Building certification through the use of solar and geothermal energy, the highest level (Green 1) of Green Building Certification, and the adoption of both passive and active energy technologies such as geothermal heat pumps.

The complex will reflect the Seoul 2040 Urban Master Plan by creating a harmonious skyline with the surrounding Geoyeo-Macheon Redevelopment Promotion District and Wirye Housing District. The southern and western sections adjacent to existing residential areas will feature lower building heights to promote balanced development with the local community. The complex will also include community-oriented public facilities such as daycare centers and shared childcare centers.

To enhance pedestrian convenience, a cross-shaped public walkway will be installed throughout the entire district, with public landscaping areas and large open spaces at the intersections to serve as rest areas. In addition, small parks connected to Wirye Park will be created to secure green spaces within the complex.

Choi Jinseok, Director of Housing at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, stated, "With the confirmation of the Geoyeo Saemaeul District project, the development plan for the southwestern section of the Geoyeo-Macheon Redevelopment Promotion District is now complete. This project is expected to contribute to residential stability for local residents by providing diverse housing options in a location with convenient transportation and by applying eco-friendly technologies."
