Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's Kori Nuclear Power Headquarters (Director Lee Sangwook) held the "2025 3rd Kori Nuclear Power Plant Communication Committee" on September 30.
Lee Sangwook, Director of Kori Nuclear Power Headquarters, stated, "By communicating with the nuclear power communication committee members to address key issues at the Kori Headquarters, I will strive to understand the sentiments of the local community and ensure that the Kori Headquarters grows and prospers together with our neighbors."
During this meeting, Kori Nuclear Power Headquarters presented a letter of appointment to Baek Eunsil, Head of the Nuclear Power Policy Division of Gijang County, who was newly appointed as an external committee member. Baek, the new external committee member, announced plans to serve as a nuclear power communication committee member for Kori Headquarters.
At the 3rd meeting in 2025, the committee received reports on the operational status of the plant, including the schedule for facility improvements for continued operation of Kori Units 2 to 4, major trends, community cooperation activities, the status of the "Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Support Project" application for 2026, and the results of the 2025 scholarship selection for students in the surrounding area. This was followed by an open discussion among the committee members.
The Kori Nuclear Power Plant Communication Committee is a regular meeting body that maintains ongoing communication with local residents. County council members, government officials, journalists, and regional development experts participate, holding meetings four times a year.
Kori Nuclear Power Headquarters plans to transparently and promptly share information about plant operations with the local community through activities such as the Nuclear Power Plant Communication Committee.
