The county announced on October 1 that, ahead of Chuseok, the largest traditional holiday, it operated direct transaction markets from September 6 to 30 at major event venues and sister apartment complexes in the metropolitan area, including Seoul, Incheon, Ansan, and Anyang.
Nine local companies, including Nabitteuran, Haetmam Grains, and Bulgapsan Honeybee Farm, participated in the direct transaction markets, selling more than 20 types of products such as rice cakes, honey, Houttuynia cordata pills, and sword bean tea, including various health foods.
As the products were supplied directly from the production area, they received a great response from metropolitan consumers for their freshness and reasonable prices, resulting in impressive sales of 100 million won.
In addition, to increase the repurchase rate among consumers, the county promoted its official online shopping mall, 'Hampyeong Cheonji Mall,' and publicized events held on Cheonji Mall.
The county also plans to actively promote its products so that consumers who directly experience the quality of local agricultural and specialty products will be encouraged to make repeat purchases after the holiday.
County Governor Lee Sangik said, "Operating direct transaction markets for Chuseok is a great opportunity not only to increase farm income but also to widely promote the excellence of Hampyeong's agricultural and specialty products to metropolitan consumers. We will continue to hold direct transaction events to expand sales channels and enhance brand value in the future."
