At Home Minix announced on October 1 that it will launch its new mini kimchi refrigerator, "The Shift."
The newly introduced mini kimchi refrigerator is Minix's next-generation product following its food waste processor, reflecting the evolving kimchi food culture and changing consumer lifestyles, according to the company. The company explained that the trend is shifting away from large-capacity storage toward consuming only what is needed, and that consumers increasingly prefer practical appliances over bulky ones.
Minix "The Shift" addresses these changes with a compact width of 360mm-about two hand spans-maximizing space efficiency. It features a direct cooling system for precise temperature control, a cold air circulation fan, and dual-sensor inverter temperature control technology to keep kimchi in optimal condition.
To address the frost build-up issue commonly cited as a drawback of traditional kimchi refrigerators, the product is designed so that melted water naturally drains when the power is off. It offers a three-stage storage mode that allows users to adjust the optimal storage temperature for everything from fresh white kimchi to aged kimchi with a single touch, a double silicone-sealed door to minimize cold air leakage, and a low-noise design, among other features.
The capacity is 39 liters, optimized for households of two to three people. It can store six 3-liter kimchi containers, enough for about six heads of kimchi, and can also hold up to 48 cans of 500ml beer or up to 40 bottles of water.
A Minix representative stated, "'The Shift' is not just a small kimchi refrigerator, but a new solution for kimchi storage tailored to changing lifestyles, and it will set a new standard for kimchi food culture."
Meanwhile, At Home will conduct pre-order sales on Coupang from today through the 12th. The official release date is the 13th.
