To commemorate the renewal of Jeonju Sarang Call, the city plans to hold a limited-time summer event from July 21 until next month. During this period, there will be a friend referral event, and the top 300 frequent users of Jeonju Sarang Call's automatic payment feature will each receive mileage worth 10,000 won.
For the friend referral event, if a new user downloads the Jeonju Sarang Call app and enters the referrer's phone number, the referrer will receive a 1,000 won taxi fare discount coupon. The issued coupon must be used within one month.
Additionally, the mileage accumulated by frequent users can be converted into coupons and used within 12 months.
Users who download the Jeonju Sarang Call app will also receive a 4,000 won taxi fare discount coupon. There is also an ongoing event where, when using taxis with automatic payment, users can accumulate 5% of the taxi fare as mileage (up to 500,000 won), which can be exchanged for coupons and used for taxi fare payments.
To help taxi passengers waiting at Jeonju Station cool off during the heatwave, the city has been providing 300 bottles of ice water daily from July 14 to August 10 while promoting Jeonju Sarang Call.
At various summer festivals in Jeonju, including the representative Jeonju Gamek Festival, the city plans to operate promotional booths and hold various events to offer users many benefits.
The recently renewed and newly opened Jeonju Sarang Call app now provides estimated arrival times for assigned vehicles and allows users to check the real-time status of their journey to their destination, a feature that was previously unavailable.
In addition, for family members or acquaintances who may feel uneasy about taxi use, the renewed app now sends not only vehicle information but also the current location and travel status via the safety message, allowing for safer taxi use.
In particular, to ensure fast and reliable taxi dispatch, the system has changed from assigning taxis to the first driver who accepts the call, to now assigning the ride to the closest taxi among those who accept the call, enabling passengers to get a taxi more quickly.
The city also plans to implement a destination-undefined taxi call feature (postpaid payment) in the new app, reflecting improvement requests received since the launch of the renewed app.
Choi Junbeom, Director of Public Transportation for Jeonju City, stated, "We hope many citizens will use taxis through the Jeonju Sarang Call app and participate in various events to receive many benefits. We will continue to improve the system and promote diverse events so that Jeonju Sarang Call can become a convenient taxi calling platform."
