Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, Participates in Opening Ceremony of 'Mapo School' Literacy Education for Adults 원본보기 아이콘

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, participated in the opening ceremony of the 2025 Basic Elementary Education program, "Mapo School," held at 10 a.m. on the 17th in the seminar room on the 6th floor of Mapo Central Library.


Mapo School provides education on reading and comprehension methods to adults who have not received education due to difficult circumstances. The course is free of charge, and the education period runs from March 17 to December 15. Three classes are operated at the levels of elementary grades 1-2, 3-4, and 4-5.


The event was attended by Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, along with 70 Mapo School students and 3 instructors.


The event began at 10 a.m., with the head of the lifelong education team at Mapo District Office presenting the 2024 progress report of Mapo School and the 2025 operation plan. Afterwards, Mayor Park Gang-su gave a greeting, followed by a group photo session with the participants.


In 2025, Mapo School has further systematized class organization and added two instructors.


Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, who attended the opening ceremony of Mapo School, said, “Chrysanthemums blooming in autumn do not envy forsythias blooming in spring. I hope you will blossom your passion in your own season of learning,” and added, “Mapo District will do its best to provide broad lifelong education opportunities to its residents.”
