The Chungnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 17th that it will expand the operation of "Hanultari Kindergarten" to improve the educational environment of small-scale kindergartens, which are continuously increasing, and to provide high-quality learning experiences for young children.
Hanultari Kindergarten is a project aimed at improving the educational environment of small-scale public kindergartens. It establishes a cooperative system among small kindergartens in response to the sharp decline in birth rates, provides high-quality learning experiences for young children, and supports their healthy growth.
In 2024, Hanultari Kindergarten will increase the number of kindergartens from 21 to 31 by adding 10 more this year.
This year, the Provincial Office of Education will operate seven integrated kindergartens by merging nearby small kindergartens in the form of independent or annexed (three-class) institutions, three hub-type kindergartens that share educational facilities and programs with nearby kindergartens, and 21 collaborative-linked kindergartens where nearby kindergartens cooperate in educational activities.
In particular, by operating Hanultari Kindergarten in a way that reflects the conditions and characteristics of each region, the office plans to reduce the workload of staff by organizing classes by age, running distinctive curricula and after-school programs, and building future-oriented educational environments that utilize digital-based play.
Yang Eunju, Director of Early Childhood Education and Welfare, said, "By improving the educational environment of small-scale kindergartens, we will provide high-quality learning experiences and continuously expand Hanultari Kindergarten to establish a new model of public kindergarten that fits the characteristics of each region."
