Yeongju City Public Health Center (Director Kim Moon-su) will operate the child-tailored oral health program "Making Tteuni Geoni!" at the Health Center's Oral Health Center from the 6th to November 30th. The program targets 7 daycare centers and 100 children aged 7.
"Tteuni Geoni" is a compound word combining "Tteuni," meaning strong teeth, and "Geoni," meaning healthy teeth. It is an oral health program designed to help children maintain strong and healthy teeth.
This program provides oral health education and video viewing tailored to children's perspectives, one-on-one tooth brushing education, quarterly regular oral examinations and fluoride application, dental treatment, and preventive care to help children maintain their dental health independently. It also plays a role in increasing children's dental adaptability and establishing the concept of a dental primary care provider.
The program is conducted for 7-year-old children, an appropriate age for forming oral health habits. Regular management is provided to help children recognize the importance of dental care from an early age and develop proper oral care habits. The focus is on protecting the health of permanent teeth and creating opportunities to increase familiarity with dental care.
A representative from Yeongju City Public Health Center stated, "Our goal is to help children develop tooth brushing habits and foster interest in oral health," adding, "We plan to continuously operate customized oral health management programs tailored to each life cycle."
