Hanmi Pharm Launches 'Co&Cool S', a Spray Cold Medicine for Nasal Congestion

Hanmi Pharmaceutical announced on the 25th the launch of a new spray-type cold medicine, 'Co&Cool S Nasal Spray (Co&Cool S)', which is directly sprayed into the nose.

Co&Cool S, an over-the-counter drug sold only at pharmacies, helps relieve symptoms of nasal cold and allergic rhinitis such as nasal congestion, runny nose, and sneezing. It alleviates nasal congestion symptoms in just 25 seconds, and its effects last up to 12 hours.

Notably, while the existing Co&Cool is approved for use from age 12 and above, Co&Cool S has expanded the age range to be used from age 7 and above. Co&Cool S is a triple combination containing key active ingredients such as oxymetazoline hydrochloride, chlorpheniramine maleate, and dipotassium glycyrrhizinate. Oxymetazoline quickly relieves nasal congestion through vasoconstriction, chlorpheniramine suppresses allergic reactions, and glycyrrhizin soothes inflammation and provides a calming effect.

This product is designed to act locally on the affected area, resulting in fewer systemic side effects such as drowsiness, and includes a small amount of menthol to provide a refreshing and cool sensation without discomfort. It also contains dexpanthenol as an additive to maintain moisture and promote mucosal regeneration.

Sold in a 30mL volume, this product features a special pump that prevents the entry of external bacteria and sprays the medicine evenly so that it reaches deep inside the nasal mucosa.
