Design Improvement of Road Facilities Including Distribution Boxes and Streetlight Poles on Doksan-ro, Geumcheon-gu

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it has completed a public design improvement project along approximately 450 meters of Doksan-ro, from the intersection in Siheung 4-dong, where the utility pole undergrounding project was completed, to the intersection in Doksan 4-dong.

Doksan-ro is a major road frequently used by residents in their daily lives, and the need to improve the pedestrian environment has been consistently raised due to the many existing utility poles and aging facilities.

The district improved the design of a total of 68 road facilities, including distribution boxes, streetlight poles, and free shuttle bus information signs, focusing on the section where the utility pole undergrounding project was completed.

The distribution boxes installed as part of the utility pole undergrounding project on the sidewalks were decorated with visual designs representing the four seasons, such as flowers symbolizing spring and waves symbolizing summer. For aging road facilities like streetlight poles and free shuttle bus information signs, a neat design with a comfortable neutral color (gray) background was applied.

The free shuttle bus information signs were also enhanced functionally by increasing the font size and applying highly visible colors so that the main users, elderly residents, can easily recognize them.

Additionally, all facilities reflect the city brand image of “Good City is Geumcheon,” emphasizing the identity of Geumcheon residents and realizing a unified image of the city.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, “This project has significantly improved the pedestrian environment on Doksan-ro, providing residents with a safe and pleasant environment. We will continue to carefully improve the pedestrian environment and urban design so that residents can feel the changes in their daily lives.”
