Jeollanam-do has surpassed 550,000 members in its "Jeonnam Sarangae Supporters" program, which has been operated since 2022 to overcome the risk of regional extinction, promote the sale of local agricultural and specialty products, and revitalize tourism. In addition, the number of affiliated discount stores has exceeded 550, drawing significant public attention.

According to Jeollanam-do on the 27th, members of the Jeonnam Sarangae Supporters are issued the "Jeonnam Sarang Resident Card," which allows them to receive discounts at affiliated stores such as local tourist attractions, accommodations, restaurants, and traditional markets.

Last year, Jeollanam-do worked hard to promote the Supporters nationwide by publicizing the program at major domestic festivals such as the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival, the Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival, and the Daegu Chimaek Festival, as well as by signing business agreements with sports organizations such as the Korea Alpine Federation.

Furthermore, with continuous cooperation from the 22 cities and counties, and through business agreements with seven associations including the Provincial Merchants Association and the Accommodation Association, the number of affiliated discount stores increased from about 230 at the beginning of the year to 550. As a result, the benefits for Supporters are expected to expand significantly.

This year, Jeollanam-do plans to further vitalize the local economy by not only increasing the number of Sarangae Supporters and promotional activities, but also by enhancing the quality of services and benefits provided.

In particular, the province plans to improve convenience by establishing the "Jeonnam Sarangae Supporters Integrated Platform (App)," which will provide a one-stop service for joining the Supporters, accessing information on affiliated discount stores, guidance on local festivals and events, and news about provincial affairs.
