Lee Hoseong, Hana Card President, Appointed as Next Hana Bank CEO

Lee Ho-sung (60), President of Hana Card, has been recommended as the next candidate for Hana Bank President.

On the 12th, according to Hana Financial Group, the Group Executive Candidate Recommendation Committee (Nomination Committee) announced that it had selected President Lee Ho-sung as the candidate for Hana Bank President.

Born in 1964, the candidate graduated from Daegu Joongang Commercial High School, worked at Hanil Bank, and joined Hana Bank in 1992.

He has since served as Head of Gangnam Seocho Sales Headquarters, Head of Central Sales Group, and Executive Vice President in charge of the Sales Group, and has been serving as CEO of Hana Card since January 2023.

The Group Nomination Committee stated, "Amid increasing volatility in domestic and international financial markets, we evaluated candidate Lee as the right person to achieve sustainable growth due to his abundant field experience and sales know-how."

During his tenure as CEO of Hana Card, candidate Lee is credited with successfully leading the launch of the Travel Log card, enhancing sales capabilities and profitability.

Current Hana Bank President Lee Seung-yeol has declined to be a candidate for bank president to focus on his role as Vice Chairman of Hana Financial Group for stable management, according to Hana Financial Group.

Additionally, the Nomination Committee recommended Sung Young-soo, Executive Vice President of Hana Bank, as the next candidate for CEO of Hana Card, and Kang Sung-mook will continue as CEO of Hana Securities.

Sung Young-soo, recommended as the next CEO candidate for Hana Card, was born in 1965, graduated from Korea University with a degree in Public Administration, and has served as Head of Gyeonggi Sales Headquarters, Head of Foreign Exchange Business Unit, and Head of CIB Group at Hana Bank. He is currently serving as Head of Corporate Group and concurrently as Head of Group CIB Division at Hana Financial Group.

The appointment of each candidate will be finalized after going through the respective affiliate’s Executive Candidate Recommendation Committee, Board of Directors, and General Shareholders’ Meeting.
