Goseong County, Gyeongnam, achieved remarkable performance and outstanding results by participating in the 4th Gyeongsangnam-do Lifelong Learning Expo 2024, hosted by the Gyeongsangnam-do Talent Lifelong Education Promotion Agency, held at the Changwon Convention Center from June 8 to 9.
Under the theme "Goseong, a Well-Aging Lifelong Learning City Where True Talent, Pristine Nature, and Advanced Technology Meet," a promotional experience booth for making Dinosaur Cubes & Dinosaur Vivarium was operated. The booth was designed so that people of all ages could easily and enjoyably participate, attracting large crowds and gaining great popularity.
In particular, promotional activities were also conducted to ensure the successful hosting of the 2024 Gyeongnam Goseong Dinosaur World Expo, widely publicizing the charm of Goseong County and allowing visitors to directly experience its culture and nature.
Since 2021, the Promotion Agency has annually selected and awarded the Lifelong Learning Grand Prize to individuals and organizations that have contributed to fostering a culture of lifelong learning in the region, in order to spread outstanding cases and achievements in lifelong learning.
In the institutions and organizations category, Goseong County was honored with first place. Goseong County, which received the Gyeongsangnam-do Governor's Award, was recognized for its efforts in ecological learning under the theme "Self-Development and Learning in the Nature of Goseong, an Ecological Learning City."
County Mayor Lee Sanggeun said, "I am very proud that the works in which our seniors sincerely reflected on their lives achieved outstanding results in the poetry and postcard exhibitions," and added, "We will continue to provide full support so that seniors can freely express their thoughts in writing and communicate with the world through literacy education."
Meanwhile, Goseong County was designated as a lifelong learning city in March last year and has been expanding various programs such as Neulbaeum School, which certifies elementary education, Goseong Hakdang, Youth Class for the Age of 100, and the County Residents Academy.
