Paju-si Strives to Attract Foreign Tourists Through Invitation Tourism in Tongildongsan Tourist Zone

Paju City conducted a foreigner invitation tour to promote the Tongildongsan Tourism Special Zone overseas in celebration of the Tourism Special Zone Visit Week (Special Zone Special Zone in Autumn) on the 5th.

On the 8th, Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it held a foreigner invitation tour to promote the Tongildongsan Tourism Special Zone overseas in celebration of the Tongildongsan Tourism Special Zone Visit Week (Special Zone Special Zone in Autumn) on the 5th.


A total of 37 people from 19 countries including the United States, Brazil, and the Philippines participated in this invitation tour. Participants included John, an American who gained recognition through the program "Korea Foreigners," his mother, international students from various countries, and influencers.


The participants toured Museum Hey and the National Folk Museum Paju within the tourism special zone, and took part in events such as the Bibimbap event at the Samdopum Festival in Tanhyeon-myeon and the opening ceremony of the Heyri Pan Festival.


They also enjoyed the Special Zone Special Zone event held in Heyri, learned Hangul and K-pop dance at the Gyeonggi Future Education Paju Campus, and experienced foods made from Jangdan beans at the Paju Jangdan Bean Well-being Maru, spending time to feel the charm of the tourism special zone.


Visitors who participated in this invitation tour said, "It was a time to realize that there are many tourist attractions in Paju that foreigners can enjoy besides Imjingak."


Kim Kyung-il, Mayor of Paju City, said, "We will take the lead in attracting tourists by actively developing and promoting tourism products and content tailored to tourist demand, and expand stay-type tourism facilities so that visitors can stay and enjoy Paju’s nature, history, culture, and tourism resources."


Meanwhile, the 2024 Tongildongsan Tourism Special Zone Visit Week "Special Zone Special Zone in Autumn" will continue until the 12th.
