Supporting the entire process including store permits, sales approval, and product promotion

KOTRA announced on the 19th (local time) that it has opened 'SHOP KOREA,' a permanent sales store for Korean consumer goods, at the Los Angeles Air Force Base (AAFES) in California, USA.

This sales project, prepared in collaboration with Jeollanam-do and Gyeongsangnam-do, will operate for six months from this month until February next year. Fifteen domestic companies will showcase over 100 premium Korean products including K-beauty, food, and pet supplies. KOTRA supports the entire process, known to be stringent, including store approval, construction, sales authorization, and personnel management within the U.S. military base, and plans to actively promote the participating companies' products and promotions to increase consumer awareness.

Participating companies can build a track record for entering large distribution networks or participating in public procurement projects in the U.S. through this store opening. Additionally, based on consumer preferences and sales performance, they are expected to have opportunities for official military supply contracts with U.S. military bases in the future.

Park Geun-hyung, head of KOTRA Los Angeles Trade Center, said, "Since military base distribution networks require high quality and strict screening standards for entry, this project will serve as a favorable credential for participating companies' entry into the U.S. market," adding, "KOTRA will spare no effort to support the leap of Korean consumer goods companies in the U.S. market."
