Kolon Industries FnC Division announced on the 6th that it will officially enter the global market.
The outdoor brand Kolon Sports has designated Japan's largest general trading company, 'Itochu,' as its partner and signed a three-year license agreement for local distribution and sales of Kolon Sports in Japan. This agreement is a tripartite contract among Kolon FnC, Itochu Korea, and Itochu headquarters, where Itochu Korea will handle production of licensed products, and Itochu headquarters will be responsible for distribution within Japan.
Kolon Sports plans to showcase products while monitoring local demand and reactions to items directly planned and designed by the company. Additionally, through the license agreement, it aims to plan products suitable for the local outdoor market and elevate Kolon Sports' recognition as a high-end outdoor lifestyle brand. All planning and design of licensed products will be directly managed by Kolon Sports.
The first licensed products to be introduced will be developed in collaboration with Japan's global fashion select shop 'United Arrows' and launched as an exclusive product line. The collaborative products will be sold not only at 'H Beauty Y&Youth,' a high-end select shop located in Tokyo's Omotesando, but also at 53 United Arrows stores across Japan, with plans to expand distribution channels thereafter.
Furthermore, Kolon FnC's designer brand 'Archive ABK' will enter the Thai market. Archive ABK, launched by Kolon FnC in 2019, offers products such as bags and shoes. Starting as an online-based brand, it now operates standalone showrooms and is stocked in major department stores. As a result of expanding offline distribution, this year's sales have grown by 120% compared to the same period last year.
Archive ABK has signed an exclusive distribution and sales contract with Thailand's largest retail company, 'Central Department Store.' For this fall and winter season, three stores will be opened sequentially starting in August. Around mid-August, offline stores will open at Central Ladprao and Central Silom, and in September, a store reflecting Archive ABK's branding will open at Central World to meet customers.
Yoo Seok-jin, CEO of Kolon FnC, stated, “We have deeply rooted ourselves in the domestic market and will continue to take on new challenges to diversify our entry into the global market.”
