Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) has started welcoming spring by planting spring flowers.

Throughout March, the district is planting around 40,000 representative spring flowers such as tulips, daffodils, and hydrangeas across Seongbuk-gu. The flowers are being planted intensively in areas with heavy pedestrian traffic so that residents can enjoy the spring season and a sense of daily relaxation. In this process, garden artists have been consulted to create a more meticulous arrangement.

On the 20th, six children from the Seongbuk-gu Office workplace daycare and Mayor Lee Seung-ro participated in the spring flower planting event held at Baram Garden in front of the Seongbuk-gu Office. Despite his busy schedule, Mayor Lee has been personally managing Baram Garden and maintaining communication with residents who use Seongbukcheon Stream.

Mayor Lee, the children, and about 20 officials planted 2,000 spring flowers, filling Baram Garden with the spirit of spring. The children followed the "grandfather mayor," experiencing planting flowers and watering them, filling the atmosphere with laughter.

At the rocking chairs installed in front of Baram Garden for residents to relax while enjoying Seongbukcheon and the flowers, passing elderly people took a seat, smiling warmly or cheering as they watched the little hands planting flowers.

Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, said, “In these times of high prices and economic crisis, we are paying extra attention to creating themed gardens with beautiful plants that reflect the characteristics of the season throughout the streets, so that residents can find rest and healing in their daily lives.”
