LG Electronics announced on the 15th that it will launch the UP Appliance 2.0 'Top Refrigerator Bottom Freezer Refrigerator' and 'Kimchi Refrigerator,' which provide customized experiences.

Since introducing the 2-door refrigerator as UP Appliance 2.0 in July last year, LG Electronics has added two new lineups this time. UP Appliance 2.0 is characterized by products and services tailored to each customer's preferences and lifestyle from the moment of purchase throughout usage. It is one of the key strategies in the home appliance business to respond to the trend of servitization.

Before receiving the refrigerator, customers complete a 'Life Pattern Analysis' survey on the LG ThinQ app. Based on the survey results, LG Electronics suggests recommended modes that fit the customer's lifestyle.

The new refrigerator model features a newly applied 'Fresh Custom Room' in the refrigerator compartment. The temperature of the Fresh Custom Room can be set independently from the overall refrigerator temperature, making it suitable for storing meat, alcoholic beverages, pet food, and more in optimal conditions.

The new Kimchi Refrigerator is equipped with 18 types of 'Multi-purpose Storage Functions,' including dairy products, alcoholic beverages, apples, and leafy vegetables. Customers can use the four independent compartments?upper left and right, middle, and lower compartments?according to their intended purposes.

The new refrigerator will be released on the 15th of this month, and the Kimchi Refrigerator is scheduled for release at the end of this month. The refrigerator prices are 4.7 million KRW for the Knock-On Double Magic Space and 4.35 million KRW for the Magic Space, based on the shipment price, while the Kimchi Refrigerator is priced at 3.6 million KRW based on the shipment price.

They are also available via subscription. The contract period can be selected from 3 to 6 years, and the monthly subscription fee varies depending on the contract period and options. Subscription customers can also pay to use various partner services provided by different companies, which is one of the features of UP Appliance 2.0.

Meanwhile, LG Electronics has introduced a total of six products as UP Appliance 2.0 so far, including refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, air purifiers, air conditioners, and hydro towers, opening the era of hyper-personalization in home appliances. LG Electronics plans to rapidly expand the UP Appliance 2.0 lineup this year.
