VD Company Receives Presidential Citation at '2023 Korea Food Expo'

CEO Hampansik Recognized for Contributions to Growth and Development of Food and Dining Industry

VD Company announced on the 16th that CEO Ham Pansik was recognized for his contributions to the development of the domestic food service industry and was selected as a contributor to the development of the food and food service industry at the '2023 Korea Food Expo,' receiving a presidential citation.


The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs held an awards ceremony for contributors to the development of the food and food service industry on the opening day of the '2023 Korea Food Expo' on the 15th, awarding those who contributed to the growth and development of the food and food service industry.

Since introducing the first serving robot in Korea in 2019, VD Company has maintained the number one position in domestic serving robot supply performance for four years. In November last year, it attracted an investment of 9.9 billion KRW from Hana Ventures and launched VD Solution, an artificial intelligence (AI) restaurant solution combining serving robots and various devices. The number of franchise stores that have introduced VD Company's serving robots, POS systems, and table orders has exceeded 10,000. Recently, the company newly launched the autonomous cleaning robot 'Cleaver,' expanding its lineup of service robots.


CEO Ham said, "With high inflation, minimum wage increases, and labor shortages overlapping, service robots are becoming an indispensable and important automation solution in the food service industry," adding, "We will continue to strive for the development of the domestic food service industry."
