Cosmetic ingredients derived from camellia developed by Amorepacific have been approved as standard ingredients for organic and natural cosmetics under the international certification COSMOS.
According to Amorepacific on the 10th, the recently COSMOS-approved ingredients are three high-performance cosmetic ingredients derived from camellia. RE.D Flavonoid® is based on skin anti-aging core technology jointly developed by Amorepacific and KAIST, demonstrating excellent skin aging regulation capabilities. AgeRefect® is a boosting ingredient for tired skin, showing a significant pore reduction effect in a placebo-controlled clinical trial. Camelloxil®, which has undergone functional evaluation for hair loss mitigation by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, is also utilized in Amorepacific’s hair care products.
The COSMOS standard is an internationally recognized integrated certification for organic and natural cosmetics. It is selected through strict evaluation based on principles such as respect for biodiversity, responsible use of natural resources, eco-friendly production and processing, and the adoption and development of green chemistry concepts. To receive COSMOS certification, ingredients approved as natural raw materials must be used.
Seo Byung-hwi, head of Amorepacific R&I Center, said, "This approval of camellia-derived ingredients as COSMOS standard ingredients means that the ingredients developed through long-term research at Amorepacific R&I Center meet high global standards." He added, "Amorepacific will continue to lead the clean beauty trend through relentless research so that customers worldwide can continue to make valuable consumption choices."
