Currently, the Gujeolcho garden’s bloom rate is 35%, with full bloom expected around the 12th.
The opening ceremony, held at 5 p.m. on the 8th, will feature congratulatory performances by trot singers Jang Min-ho and Kim Da-hyun, and representative singers of 70s and 80s sentimental music such as Park Kang-sung, followed by a spectacular fireworks display.
The festival offers not only the beautiful Gujeolcho scenery but also garden enjoyment experience programs such as Solsupjam, a healing experience under the pine shade shelter; garden making, which creates a space-utilizing garden within the Wave Garden; foot bath experience using Gujeolcho; and Gujeolcho flower pattern face painting.
On-site applications will be accepted for the ‘Gujeolcho Photo Contest,’ which includes judging and exhibition. Various experiential programs that allow visitors to feel lyricism, fun, health, and romance will also be held, including ‘Love Radio Station’ featuring beautiful stories and music by a professional DJ, ‘One Big Event Performance’ at the lawn plaza, and ‘Free Printing of Gujeolcho Commemorative Photos.’
Additionally, a zip wire offering a panoramic view of the Gujeolcho flower festival scenery and a flower train running from the lawn plaza to the Wildflower Garden and Wave Garden will operate, providing unique attractions.
Moreover, photo zones with street flower spaces and flower towers, as well as night lighting along the Gujeolcho flower path, have been created as popular spots for taking memorable photos.
The festival also offers abundant food and entertainment. Visitors can experience Jeongeup’s distinctive flavors such as Gujeolcho tofu kimchi, mountain vegetable bibimbap, sorghum pancakes, freshwater snail kalguksu, and Korean beef. The city has carefully considered taste and price by promoting tasting contests and price negotiation meetings.
Mayor Lee Hak-su said, “We have worked hard to incorporate Jeongeup’s flavors and generous hospitality into the beautiful scenery of the Gujeolcho Flower Festival, a representative autumn festival of Korea,” adding, “I hope this festival becomes a trip where visitors can fully embrace the romance and beauty of autumn.”
