The Ministry of Employment designates participating companies and institutions in the consortium as joint training centers and comprehensively evaluates curriculum development and training performance.
Since the introduction of the consortium education project in 2005, POSCO has trained approximately 690,000 employees from 838 companies. Last year, the scope of education was expanded to include subcontractors and service providers, conducting technical job training such as welding, overhead crane operation, machinery maintenance, and electrical equipment management, as well as ESG competency enhancement education for 22,182 executives and employees from 522 partner companies.
Additionally, POSCO has conducted employment support education for youth job seekers linked to recruitment, connecting a total of 802 people, including 163 last year, to employment at partner companies since 2017, playing a leading role in creating youth jobs and nurturing talent for SMEs.
POSCO plans to donate the 25 million KRW incentive received for the top evaluation entirely to the ‘POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation’ to practice the values of coexistence and sharing in the local community.
A POSCO official stated, "We will support various programs, including field-customized education for partner companies and SMEs, to realize the value of coexistence between large and small-medium enterprises."
