KT announced on the 3rd that it has launched a high-performance engineering platform service. It provides an environment where manufacturers in automotive, shipbuilding, aerospace, machinery, electronics, and other industries can conduct various engineering tests such as fluid, structural, thermal, and electromagnetic analyses during R&D, production, and design processes.
This platform offers significant cost advantages as resources can be allocated and used as needed. It allows for arbitrary scaling of resources. Additionally, it provides Siemens' computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solution (Simcenter STAR-CCM+) as software-as-a-service. Initial costs can be reduced by up to 60% compared to building high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure directly.
High performance is also a strength. It delivers over 10% better performance than on-premise HPC. By applying parallel distributed technology from Amazon Web Services (AWS)'s high-performance cluster-based large-scale cloud analytics platform, engineering test performance has been increased up to 10 times. This means analysis and testing tasks that used to take 10 days can now be completed in just one day. The platform also enhances line security through direct connection methods based on SD-WAN, dedicated lines, and Hyper-Connected Exchange (HCX), ensuring that critical data such as corporate design data and test results are not leaked.
Oh Hun-yong, Executive Director of KT Enterprise Division Proposal/Execution Headquarters 2, said, “Many manufacturing companies are adopting new technologies for digital transformation (DX). Based on our ICT business experience and network capabilities, we will pioneer the cloud engineering platform service market and lead the DX market for manufacturing companies.”
