원본보기 아이콘[Asia Economy Reporter Donghoon Jeong] Doosan Enerbility announced on the 22nd that it will promote its nuclear and gas turbine technologies at 'POWERGEN International (PGI) 2023,' held in Orlando, USA.
PGI is the world's largest energy and power generation exhibition held annually in the United States, taking place from the 21st to the 23rd (local time) at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. This year, PGI is noted for increased interest in nuclear power generation. The keynote speaker of the exhibition is the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) of NuScale Power, and eight nuclear-related conferences are scheduled.
On the first day of the exhibition, the 21st, Doosan Enerbility invited domestic and international customers and industry stakeholders to hold the 'Doosan Decarbonization Conference' to promote its technological capabilities. In the morning, presentations were made on ▲current status and roadmap of gas turbine development ▲current status of hydrogen co-firing turbine development ▲current status of hydrogen combustion turbine development. In the afternoon, to support the overseas export of Korean nuclear power plants, the company actively promoted its nuclear business, introducing ▲production capabilities of main nuclear power plant equipment ▲major domestic and international nuclear-related products and service achievements ▲strengths and current status as an SMR (Small Modular Reactor) manufacturer.
On the same day, Kim Jung-kwan, Vice President and Head of Marketing at Doosan Enerbility, met with Dr. Jose N. Reyes, co-founder and CTO of NuScale Power, to discuss global SMR market trends, NuScale SMR technology, and cooperation plans.
Vice President Kim said, “At this PGI 2023 exhibition, we confirmed the growing interest in carbon reduction power generation technologies such as nuclear and gas turbines. We will continue to actively promote Doosan Enerbility’s diverse power generation technologies and business execution capabilities through customized marketing with domestic and international customers to support future order activities.”
