SensTone (CEO Yoo Chang-hoon), a leader in next-generation authentication security, announced that it has obtained the New Excellent Technology (NET) certification from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy for its "Individual IoT Device Authentication and Transmission Data Security Technology through One-Way Dynamic Authentication (OTAC)."

SensTone, which has proven not only security but also convenience and commercial viability by providing its self-developed OTAC (One-Time Authentication Code)-based authentication solution to Toss Bank, Millipass, and the Indonesian Mint's electronic revenue stamp service, plans to accelerate its entry into the financial and IoT authentication security markets based on this national certification.

The 'NET New Excellent Technology Certification,' jointly operated by the National Institute of Technology and Standards under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Industrial Technology Association, is a system that early discovers and certifies the excellence of new technologies developed by domestic companies, research institutes, and universities. Since it targets technologies that are either the first developed domestically or significantly improved or innovated existing technologies, the selection itself holds great significance.

The "Individual IoT Device Authentication and Transmission Data Security Technology through OTAC-based One-Way Dynamic Authentication" by SensTone, which received the NET certification this time, is a technology that identifies and authenticates users with a one-way, one-time OTAC token valid only for a specific period. It eliminates the need to carry a separate OTP device for authentication, and since the code is generated independently within the device, it can create authentication codes even when the network with the server is disconnected. Recognized for its excellence in innovatively improving the security of IoT devices by replacing fixed-value-based authentication vulnerable to external threats, such as IDs and passwords, with a one-time dynamic code-based device authentication system. It can be provided in various forms such as firmware, on-premise, and cloud, and has low cost burdens related to technical integration with existing systems, making it very useful for financial institutions, telecommunications operators, ISPs (internet service providers), and IoT operators who want to quickly launch new services based on safe, economical, and convenient authentication services.

SensTone plans to prioritize targeting the financial and IoT markets that require strong authentication security technology to respond to increasingly intelligent cyber threats, leveraging this new technology certification as a milestone. Since OTAC technology is already commercially operated in device authentication systems by domestic and international clients, this new technology certification is expected to act as a lubricant for discovering new customers and expanding the market.

Yoo Chang-hoon, CEO of SensTone, stated, "As the IoT market grows and technology advances, cyber security threats surrounding it are increasing daily and becoming more sophisticated. With this NET new technology certification officially recognizing SensTone's innovative technology once again, we will contribute to the emergence of more innovative and disruptive financial and IoT services by providing customers who need reliable authentication security technology with a safe and advanced authentication security environment without compromising user convenience."

Meanwhile, SensTone's OTAC technology has filed and holds over 260 global patents and continues to develop authentication solutions applicable across various fields, from financial solutions to IoT solutions, based on an algorithm characteristic that dynamically changes every time without duplication with other users.
