[Asia Economy Reporter Han Yeju] LG Electronics announced on the 28th that it will provide integration services to conveniently use various devices of the domestic IoT (Internet of Things) brand 'Heyhome' through the LG ThinQ app.
Recently, LG Electronics added eight Heyhome IoT products?▲motorized curtains ▲smart bulbs ▲smart plugs ▲temperature and humidity sensors ▲motion sensors ▲door sensors ▲smart buttons ▲smart hubs?to the list of devices that can be directly controlled via the LG ThinQ app. The range of compatible products will continue to expand.
For example, users can open or close Heyhome’s motorized curtains and turn smart bulbs on or off or change their light colors through the LG ThinQ app. Additionally, when customers link Heyhome’s temperature and humidity sensors with LG Whisen air conditioners via the LG ThinQ app, the air conditioner automatically maintains the indoor temperature according to the set temperature. It also controls indoor humidity by operating a dehumidifier or switching the air conditioner to dehumidification mode based on the set humidity.
To build a more convenient smart home, LG Electronics is continuously expanding IoT devices from various brands such as Apple HomeKit and Aqara to be used in conjunction with the LG ThinQ app, in addition to Heyhome. Through the LG ThinQ app, customers can also control five types of IoT devices linked to 'Apple HomeKit,' including ▲smart lighting and ▲thermostats, as well as eight types of IoT devices from 'Aqara,' including ▲smart switches ▲temperature and humidity sensors ▲illuminance sensors.
LG Electronics sells IoT devices from Heyhome, Aqara, and others at LG Best Shops and the LG ThinQ app store to enable customers to conveniently purchase IoT devices compatible with LG ThinQ.
Meanwhile, LG Electronics is accelerating the expansion of the smart home ecosystem, having been selected last month as the chair company of the global standards alliance CSA and recently joining HCA, which includes major home appliance and HVAC companies. LG Electronics plans to actively participate in the development and standardization of 'Matter,' an IP-based smart home communication standard technology led by CSA.
Yeom Jangseon, Senior Vice President of the H&A Platform Business at LG Electronics H&A Business Division, said, "We will continuously increase the number of IoT devices that can be integrated and add new features to provide a differentiated customer experience unique to LG ThinQ, making it more convenient for customers to use."
