[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] The police are conducting non-face-to-face crime prevention promotional activities using media boards (advertising panels) inside apartment elevators.
On the 18th, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced that it is collaborating with apartment complex management offices to display crime prevention posters on media boards inside elevators.
According to the Mapo Police Station, this activity is a field-centered, resident-focused crime prevention policy aimed at increasing residents' awareness of crime prevention, covering topics such as ▲crime prevention tips for women ▲prevention of parcel theft ▲punishment for stalking ▲prevention of child abuse.
The police stated that they plan to continue various crime prevention promotional activities by analyzing residents' satisfaction and the effectiveness of the policy, and expanding it to other housing complexes and public institutions in the future.
Baeyongseok, chief of the Mapo Police Station, said, “We will carry out proactive non-face-to-face crime prevention activities in response to the ongoing spread of Omicron, creating a resident-centered local security environment where all local residents can be safe from crime.”
