[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] The global luxury watch brand Rolex's support for the arts is gaining attention.

According to industry sources on the 12th, Rolex has maintained a long-standing relationship of over 40 years with the world's top orchestras and art institutions. Continuing the vision of its founder Hans Wilsdorf, who regarded arts and culture as one of the important heritages, Rolex strives to enhance excellence and inspire the next generation by continuously supporting world-class artists.

In particular, since signing an exclusive partnership with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in 2009, Rolex has achieved top-level collaboration. Founded in 1842, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra is widely recognized as one of the finest symphony orchestras in the world, having built a long-standing reputation and carrying on the great tradition of classical music. Through the New Year's Concert held on the morning of January 1st at the Musikverein for 80 years and the Summer Night Concert held in May or June in the gardens of Vienna's Sch?nbrunn Palace, it delivers a message of peace to the world.

Rolex also takes the lead in supporting artists worldwide. As part of the brand's cultural and artistic sponsorship activities, Rolex launched the Rolex Mentor and Prot?g? Arts Initiative in 2002, supporting 54 great artists globally to pair with the next generation of artists for collaboration. From 2020 to 2022, mentors and prot?g?s were selected in four fields: film, theater, creative arts, and visual arts. Through Rolex's arts sponsorship, masters of the art world and talented emerging artists closely collaborate and exchange ideas, creating top-level art that transcends generational and geographical boundaries.
